Consultation on Draft Supplementary Planning Document | 21st January - 4th March 2010
Torridge District Council is consulting on a draft of the Winkleigh Airfield Site Development Brief (SDB) Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) and would like to invite people to have their say. The Site Development Brief provides guidance for prospective developers (and interested parties) on the planning issues related to the airfield and communicates the Council's aspirations for the site. The Site Development Brief is intended to provide supplementary guidance to the policies in the North Devon and Torridge Joint Core Strategy in the form of development parameters and design guidance to facilitate high quality, sustainable development appropriate to the airfield and its setting. It identifies small-scale opportunities for consolidating and improving rural employment opportunities at the site. The aim is to raise aspirations for the Airfield and begin a new chapter in the history of this important site for Winkleigh and the surronding villages.
Have Your Say
The Council would like to invite you to have your say on the draft Supplementary Planning Document. A six week period of public consultation starts on 21st January and comments must arrive no later than 4th March 2010.
The draft document and supporting material is available to view or download via this consultation portal or alternatively copies can be viewed at the Council Offices and public libraries across the District. It will also be available to view at the Winkleigh Community Centre every Wednesday from 9-11am throughout the consultation period during the weekly winkleigh mini-market.
The Council would like to invite people to have their say by completing a questionnaire that asks specific questions about the key principles of the document. The questionnaire is available:

Completed questionnaires should be returned to the Council no later than 4th March 2010 by:

Making representations via this consultation portal is a simple process however you will need to be registered and log-on before you can have your say. You will then be able to view, complete and submit your responses to the questionnaire by simply clicking the 'View and Comment' button below and following the simple instructions.
A public event will be held to support the consultation at the Winkleigh Community Centre on Saturday 6th February 2010 from 1-4pm.
