Regulation 25 Pre-Publication Consultation | 21st January - 15th March 2010

- THE CONSULTATION HAS NOW CLOSED -

Pre-publication Core Strategy CoverNorth Devon Council and Torridge District Council are consulting on the pre-publication draft of the Joint Core Strategy and would like to invite people to have their say. The Core Strategy is an important plan that will shape development in northern Devon over the next decade and beyond. The purpose of the Core Strategy is to set out the vision, objectives and key policies for delivering future development across northern Devon until 2026. It is the central document in the Local Development Framework (LDF) - the name for the collection of documents that will over time replace the Local Plan. The Core Strategy is being prepared jointly by North Devon Council and Torridge District Council to provide a consistent approach to planning into the future across the whole of northern Devon.

Have your Say

The Councils would like to invite you to have your say on the pre-publication draft of the Joint Core Strategy. You may also comment on the Sustainability Appraisal and other supporting evidence documents.  A six week period of public consultation starts on 21st January 2010 and was originally intended to run until the 4th March 2010. This period has now been extended and your comments must arrive no later than 15th March 2010.

The draft Core Strategy can be viewed online via this consultation portal, downloaded below, or be viewed at Council Offices and Libraries across Torridge and North Devon. The supporting documents are all available to view or download below. Further details of the consultation including information on a series of exhibition events can be found on the North Devon Council and Torridge District Council websites.

Making representations via this consultation portal is a simple process however you will need to be registered and log-on before you can make comments. You can then view the draft Core Strategy online and submit comments in response to either individual sections or the document as a whole. You may submit as many individual comments as required.

You can do this by clicking on the "Add comments" link that you will find to the top right of each section in the text of the the Core Strategy. This will in turn open a simple form where you can provide your response including the option to upload a file (pdf, MS Word, etc) in support. Your response can then be submitted by simply clicking on the submit button at the bottom of the form. If you require assistance in making representations using the portal there is online help available or alternatively please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Comments on any of the supporting documents including the Sustainability Appraisal should be submitted using the first 'Add Comments' button at the beginning of the Core Strategy and comments should clearly state which document they relate to.

Details of alternative ways to have your say and submit comments are available from the North Devon Council and Torridge District Council Websites. For further information or if you have any queries or questions please get in touch using the details shown below:
